Dhaka: The average day temperature across the country has been between 40 and 42 degrees for several days. People of all ages from all over the country including the capital city.

In the intense heat, people living in the capital, day laborers and low income people are in extreme trouble. Many people are getting sick due to unbearable heat. In shopping malls, markets or markets, the presence of general buyers is less. Many are working on hourly contracts rather than full time. Some of the workers are working several hours a day. Such a situation is prevailing not only in the capital, but in the entire country.

According to the owners or the householders, the workers are not satisfied even by paying more money. As the day progresses, they can’t bear the heat and leave work. Their fear, may be affected by heat stroke. This has also been known by visiting various areas of the capital on the ground and talking to the working people.

People’s life has become boring due to continuous demands. The suffering and suffering of ordinary and working people has increased due to extreme heat. But working people are in the most trouble. Day laborers, rickshaw pullers and van drivers are unable to work due to intense sun. Meanwhile, if you don’t work, you won’t get food. So many people have gone to work ignoring the burning sensation in their stomach. Despite the heat, many people are panting.

On Thursday (April 25), people from different classes and professions were seen in the heat of intense heat. Especially the life of laborers and working people is about to go out. Even so, they have to run with sweat in order to make a living. Some are resting under the shade between work. Their income has also decreased as they cannot work for a long time due to the heat. In summer, the hardships increased several times, but the income did not increase.

Day laborers Mamun and Sifat were waiting on the capital’s Karwan Bazar road with the blazing sun on their heads. With basket-hoe. They said that in many places, hundreds of day laborers wait since dawn in search of work. But for the last 7-8 days many people are not coming.

Saiful Hossain, an official of the Housing and Construction Company, said that even 8-10 days ago, daily laborers were available on the side of the road. Not available now. Many have gone to the village. Earlier every morning hundreds of workers used to wait in different parts of the capital for when the contractor would come. Few are coming now. Many construction works have been stalled by the labor shortage.

Talked to some bus drivers and helpers in the capital. Driver Anisul said that the number of passengers in most of the buses is limited. Some passengers are available in the morning. Passengers are available even after evening. But the passengers are not meeting during the day. People are not going out of their homes in this heat unless it is necessary, which is also affecting public transport.

Environmentalists say air pollution is also to blame for this uncomfortably high summer temperature. Air pollution levels are already high in dry weather. The amount of dust floating in the air is increasing. Pollutants along with heat also cause human discomfort.
