Since the beginning of Baisakh, people’s life has become unbearable due to intense heat in Bogra. And this heat has the most negative impact on the lives of low income people. Therefore, like many places across the country, the devout worshipers of Gokul area of Bogra offered Istiska prayers expecting rain.
On Wednesday (April 24) around 2:30 pm, the local Muslims organized this prayer at the Gokul Taslim Uddin High School ground of Sadar Upazila.
Hundreds of devotees participated in it in different areas. The prayers were led by Khatib Maulana Aminur Islam of Gokul central Eidgah ground in the city.
Maulana Aminur Islam said, ‘There is an intense heatwave due to climate change. In such a situation, may Allah shower mercy on them, so they pray for mercy from Allah. According to the Sunnah of the Prophet, they came to the field and confessed all their sins and sought the mercy of the Creator.
He also said, ‘We hope that Allah will surely forgive us and He will kindly make this environment beautiful again.’
After the prayer, a special prayer is offered in the hope of rain. Meanwhile, the worshipers cried and prayed for rain.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature of Bogra has been rising from 37 to 39 degrees for the past few days. The highest temperature recorded in the district was 38.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the Meteorological Office said.
