Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the people of the world to stand against all kinds of attacks and atrocities and say ‘no’ to war.

Addressing the 80th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), he said, “Sustainable development is a prerequisite for lasting peace and security. That is why we should speak out against all forms of aggression or violence.”

“Say ‘no’ to war. War and genocide continue in Palestine. Of course it should end. War brings no solution.”

According to Buss, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh made this call in a speech at the ESCAP Hall of the United Nations Conference Center on Thursday.

Bangladesh supports UN Secretary General’s ‘new agenda for peace’, Sheikh Hasina said, “The ongoing war in Gaza is only increasing the number of casualties, especially the number of casualties of women and children is increasing. In this case only dialogue can bring peace.”

In this context, Sheikh Hasina highlighted her initiative to make ‘Mountain Peace Agreement’ in Bangladesh in 1996.

He said, “We must resolve regional disputes and tensions through dialogue. Above all we must show mutual respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is in Thailand on a six-day state visit. Attending the 80th session of UNESCO in the country on Thursday, he urged the world to stop the war and find a way of peace.

Sheikh Hasina arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday on a bilateral visit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin. He was given a red carpet reception at the airport.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet King Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida at the Royal Palace of Thailand during the visit.

United Nations Under-Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Armida Salsiah Alishabana will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister of Thailand Shretha Thavisin will officially welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by providing a guard of honor on April 26. After that, there will be a bilateral meeting between the two Prime Ministers at the Government House of Thailand.

Later, four agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed in their presence, along with the signing of the ‘Letter of Intent’ for the initiation of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Hasina will attend the state lunch organized by Prime Minister Shretha on the same day. After the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to return to the country on April 29.
