Dhaka: The Meteorological Department has again issued a three-day heat alert. There is no good news whether the temperature will decrease after these three days.

In this situation, three options are being considered for educational institutions.

If the heat subsides, opening educational institutions, if not, morning school activities or conducting online class activities – these are the three ideas of policy makers related to education.

Thursday (April 24) meteorologist. Shahinul Islam said that the current heat flow over the country may continue for the next 72 hours from today (April 25). In addition, excess water vapor may increase discomfort.

Schools and colleges were supposed to open on April 21 after Eid-ul-Fitr and other holidays, but classes are scheduled to resume on April 28, a week behind due to heatwave. But the good news of Tapadah has left Shikhaprasan in thought. Health related people are afraid of creating risks in the health sector in the heatwave. No one wants to take pressure or risk in this situation.

According to the Meteorological Office, heavy rain is flowing over Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajshahi, Pabna, Faridpur and Gopalganj districts along with Khulna division. Mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing over Barisal division including Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban districts and remainder of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and will continue. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. And there will be discomfort due to the excess of water vapor.

Officials said that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education will review the situation in consultation with the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of Meteorology in this adverse weather condition.

Two officials of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said that the students have been out of class for about a month, including seven days off in the scorching heat including the Eid holiday. So they have to keep their focus on studies. This issue is also being considered. On the other hand, it is planned to start morning shift or conduct online classes by reducing the time of class activities so that they are not harmed due to heat. Decisions will be made keeping these options in mind.

They also said that maybe next Saturday the decision will be announced.

Due to the intense heat, the Guardian Oikya Forum raised the demand to extend the holiday of educational institutions by one week. Because the vacation is over, the president of this forum, Md. Bir Muktijodha. Ziaul Kabir Dulu said that educational programs can be conducted through online considering the health protection of students and to protect them from heatstroke. The Guardian Oikya Forum President thinks that conducting class activities online will help a lot in meeting the shortage of education during the closing time.
