57 first class officials resigned from Bangladesh Bank. They resigned to join other jobs including BCS. This information was informed in an office order of the central bank last Tuesday. Various discussions are going on about this matter.
It is learned that among those who resigned are a deputy director and an officer. 55 other Assistant Directors. The resignation of 48 people will be effective on Thursday. On March 31 and on April 15 and 16, one each, two on April 18 and four on April 21 took effect.
Most of the officials who left the job were working in the head office of Bangladesh Bank. Besides, there were three each in Khulna and Barisal offices, two in Sylhet office, one each in Motijheel, Chittagong and Rangpur offices.
It is known that if three years are completed till 2022, the officials would be eligible for promotion subject to the vacancy. Even if the post is vacant now, there is no promotion after five years. Earlier there was 9 months foundation training after joining. Now brought down to three months.
Additional increments were given if 80 percent marks were obtained in this training. taobandha Bangladesh Bank does not provide car maintenance allowance of Tk 45,000 per month to fifth grade government employees.

Central bank officials told the media that bank salaries are comparatively higher than any other job. As the regulatory body of the bank, there was a system to encourage the employment of Bangladesh Bank. Talents prevailed. Joining as Assistant Director till 2018 would have given four additional increments. It is closed from AD batch of 2019.
Once upon a time, many people left BCS and public universities to join the Central Bank. However, they feel that they are leaving the job due to various reasons including frustration with the lack of autonomy, reduced facilities. Many people are disappointed with these. They said that they were getting a little bit more facilities earlier but they are slowly doing it like any other job.
