Bangladesh Embassy, ​​Kuwait celebrates the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Kuwait.

Tuesday (April 23) marks Independence and National Day and the 50th anniversary of relations with Kuwait.

Sheikh Firas Saud Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Society, Family and Child Affairs and Acting State Minister for Cabinet Affairs, was present as the chief guest at the event.

The colorful reception started with the playing of national anthems of Bangladesh and Kuwait. Then Major General (retd.) Md. Ambassador of Bangladesh appointed to Kuwait. In his speech, Ashikuzzaman thanked Sheikh Firas Saud Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Child Affairs and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, for attending the event as the chief guest.

He expressed his deep gratitude to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Government of Kuwait and the people of Kuwait for their continued support to Bangladeshi expatriates living in Kuwait.

The ambassador mentioned in his speech that Kuwait was the first Gulf country to recognize Bangladesh after independence. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, Bangladesh and Kuwait have enjoyed excellent bilateral relations in a wide range of fields including political, economic, export and import, trade and investment, manpower, agriculture, education, tourism and defense sectors.

The ambassador expressed hope that the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will reach a new height under the visionary leadership of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

In his speech, the Ambassador invited Kuwait and all friendly countries of the world to invest in the Special Economic Zone and become partners for mutual growth and prosperity.

In his speech, he also highlighted the tourism sector of Bangladesh. The Ambassador invited everyone to visit Bangladesh to enjoy the natural beauty of Bangladesh and the hospitality of Bangladeshis.

In his closing speech, the Ambassador urged all Bangladeshis living in Kuwait to make maximum contributions from their respective positions to make it the ‘Golden Bangla’ of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream.
