The UK wants to help develop the aviation industry

Dhaka, April 24, 2024 (BASS) : United Kingdom wants to cooperate in the development of Bangladesh’s aviation industry.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook informed the UK’s interest during a meeting with the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Muhammad Farooq Khan at his residence on Wednesday.
The High Commissioner said, “The UK has a long-standing partnership with Bangladesh’s aviation industry. We have previously worked together in various sectors of the aviation industry, including the development of airport security systems. The UK is keen to cooperate in a wide range of possible new areas including developing the technical skills of Bangladesh’s aviation industry, creating trained personnel and further improving safety systems. The UK wants to play a partner role in transforming Bangladesh into an aviation hub.”
Welcoming the interest of the friendly country United Kingdom to successfully transform Bangladesh into an aviation hub, the minister said that it will be a pleasure for the two countries to work together for the development of the aviation industry. In the aviation industry, there are opportunities for the two countries to work together, it will be looked into.
Farooq Khan also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, extensive development has been achieved in all airports of the country, including the construction of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and further development work is underway. The government is working to convert Syedpur Airport into a regional hub. After the completion of development work, Syedpur Airport will play a game changer in terms of regional connectivity, economy and trade between Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Bhutan.
