Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet has introduced digital attendance system of administrative officers through biometrics.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the program in the administrative building of the university on Wednesday morning.

At this time, he said, this initiative has been taken with the aim of making everyone working in the university accustomed to the digital system. Initially officers and employees will start practicing through digital attendance.

At this time, the vice chancellor urged everyone to come to the office on time.

He further said, “A project has been started to introduce a digital system for class attendance of students. Students can enter and attend classes through finger print or scan of their identity card.”

Apart from this, the Vice-Chancellor requested everyone’s cooperation to speed up the administrative work.

Acting Registrar of the University. Fazlur Rahman said that a total of five machines have been installed in the university for digital attendance. It will be installed in all buildings gradually.

University Treasurer Professor Amina Parveen, Teachers Association President Professor Anwarul Islam were present during the inauguration.
