It is known that it has been seen in various parts of the world for several days, but it is visible brightly in the sky of the country today. The pink April full moon has other names. They are ‘Fish Moon’, ‘Grass Moon’ and ‘Egg Moon’.
CNN reported in a report that the sky will be bright with a ‘pink moon’ from Friday morning to Monday morning. However, the moon will be at its brightest on Saturday.
This particular full moon occurs exactly one month after the lunar eclipse in March. It is a cosmic event when the moon comes very close to the earth. Due to which the size of the moon looks big and bright at this time.
According to astronomers, visible changes in the color of the moon are sometimes seen due to the energy of very fine dust particles and different types of gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. Apart from this, other smog pollution also hinders the light from reaching the earth. Light arriving at Earth is scattered in many ways according to their respective wavelengths, with blue being the fastest scattered. Red also goes a long way.
Because of this, the moon appears brown, blue, light blue, silvery, golden, light yellow in color when viewed from Earth. And the illusion makes it appear slightly larger than normal. In astronomical terms it is also called relay scattering or scattering of light. The full moon seen in April is called pink moon.
