Bangladesh National Parliament Deputy Speaker Md. Wei Xiaoming, Vice Chairman of China’s Anhui Provincial People’s Congress, had a courtesy call on Shamsul Haque Tuku.

China has gained expertise in renewable energy, seeking China’s cooperation in investing more in solar and agricultural technology in Bangladesh.

He said that many products including clothes made in Bangladesh have a good reputation all over the world, China can import all those products from Bangladesh. Duty-free access to more Bangladeshi goods in the Chinese market is needed to balance trade between the two countries.

On the Rohingya issue. Shamsul Haque Tuku said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s principle is ‘friendship with everyone, not enmity with anyone. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a unique example of humanity by sheltering a large part of the Rohingya community forcibly expelled from Myanmar to Bangladesh. China needs a strong role in the peaceful repatriation of the Rohingya community to their homeland.

Referring to Bangladesh as one of the most important friendly countries, the Vice Chairman of China said that cooperation between the two neighboring countries will continue in matters related to mutual interests. Under the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has a good investment environment. We are keen to invest more. China’s role in solving the Rohingya problem of friendly Bangladesh has always been positive.
