Like Palestine, the war-torn Lebanon will play the last match against Bangladesh in the FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup joint qualifiers at a neutral venue. The match will start at 10 pm Bangladesh time at Al Saad Stadium in Doha, Qatar on June 11. This has been confirmed by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFFE). Bangladesh also played against Palestine in the neutral venue Kuwait in the last March window. Now in the June window, Lebanon will play the match in Qatar.

In the March window, the Spanish coach of the Bangladesh national football team, Javier Cabrera, conducted a conditioning camp for Jamal Bhuiyan in Saudi Arabia for more than two weeks. However, he is not getting much practice time before the June window. Because the highest season of domestic football Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will continue till May 29. After that, the coach can basically start the camp of the national team.

Bangladesh has already played four matches in World Cup and Asian Cup joint qualifiers. are at the bottom of the points table. Among them, only one point was obtained in the home match against Lebanon. Of the remaining two matches, one is against Australia at home, and the other is against Lebanon at a neutral venue. Bangladesh’s World Cup qualifying journey began with a match against Australia. One of the strongest countries in Asia will come to Kings Arena on June 6 to play an away match.
Bangladesh has been placed in the ‘I’ group in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. In their first match on 16 November 2023 in Melbourne, Bangladesh were crushed by the hosts Bangladesh 7-0. Host Bangladesh drew 1-1 with Lebanon in Dhaka on November 21. Bangladesh lost 5-0 to the host Palestine in Kuwait (neutral venue) on March 21 this year. Last on March 26 in Dhaka, hosts Bangladesh lost 1-0 to Palestine after conceding a goal at the last minute despite playing well on their own ground.
