The temperature of Sylhet may increase further

The temperature may rise slightly in next few days in Sylhet. At the same time, there may be rain or thunder with gusty wind or rain with thunder in one or two places of Sylhet division, and there is a possibility of scattered hail at some places, the Meteorological Office said. However, excess water vapor may cause discomfort.

However, a mild to moderate heat wave is flowing over Moulvibazar of Sylhet division and it may spread, said the Meteorological Office.

According to the forecast, a mild to moderate heat wave is moving over Dhaka, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions including Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Bandarban districts and the remainder of Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions and may spread.

The department said that rain with gusty wind or thunder may occur temporarily in one or two places of Sylhet division and also scattered hailstones may occur at some places.

Sylhet Meteorological Department Assistant Meteorologist Shah Md. Sajib Hossain said that although there is a chance of rain in Sylhet, the temperature may increase slightly after two-one days. During this time, due to excess water vapor in the air, discomfort may prevail among common people.

According to the Meteorological Department, if the temperature is between 36 degrees Celsius and 37.9 degrees Celsius, it is called a mild heat wave. Temperatures between 38 degrees Celsius and 39.9 degrees Celsius are called moderate heat waves. A severe heat wave is when the temperature is between 40°C and 41.9°C. And it is very severe if it is 42 degrees or more.
