The university administration did not allow the students of the Islamic Studies Department of Dhaka University (DU) to perform Istiska prayers as part of the prayer for rain.

The students of the department announced Istiska Namaz on the grounds of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall today at 11 o’clock on Wednesday with the teachers, students and the general public of Dhaka University to pray for relief from the pain of severe violence, forgiveness for the sins committed and rain. Sheikh Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad was appointed to lead the prayers and prayers. However, despite the announcement, the university administration did not get permission.
