When will a rare pink moon be seen from Bangladesh?

The world is about to witness a rare cosmic event. The color of the moon will be seen pink in the night sky. Bangladeshis will also see this scene like the residents of other countries of the world. The pink moon can be seen from the National Science and Technology Museum in Agargaon.

This information was informed in a press release sent from the Science Museum on Tuesday (April 23). It says that the moon will be visible from sunset on Wednesday (April 24) for the next two hours (subject to clear skies).

For this, a powerful telescope will be installed on the roof of the administrative building of Science Museum in Agargaon. Science Museum authorities have invited students and public to this telescope observation camp.

According to the US space research agency NASA, this year’s pink moon will be fully visible on Tuesday (April 23) at 7:49 pm local time in the country. However, this moon will be seen in the country for three days from Monday morning to Thursday morning. And Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia will have the opportunity to see this pink moon in full on Wednesday.

Astronomers say that the moon’s visible color changes are often due to the energy of the very fine dust particles and various gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. Apart from this, other smog pollution also hinders the light from reaching the earth. Light arriving at Earth is scattered in many ways according to their respective wavelengths, with blue being the fastest scattered. Red also goes a long way.

Because of this, the moon appears brown, blue, light blue, silvery, golden, light yellow in color when viewed from Earth. And the illusion makes it appear slightly larger than normal. In astronomical terms it is also called relay scattering or scattering of light.

The full moon seen in April is called pink moon. It is also known as Sprout Moon, Egg Moon, Fish Moon, Fashay Moon, Festival Moon, Full Pink Moon, Breaking Ice Moon, Budding Moon, Beginning Moon etc.
