Chittagong: 10-year child rape accused of Chandgaon police station of the city sentenced to life imprisonment. RAB-7 arrested Afchar from CNB intersection of the city after 22 years.
According to RAB-7, on September 7, 2002, the victim was playing sports in front of the house with his other classmates in Kashem Colony of Chandgaon police station in the city.
At that time, a man named Afshar brought a boat to the canal on the east side of the victim’s house. When the victim’s classmates boarded the boat, the boatman lured them along with the victim to the river. After going some distance, Afchhar tricked the classmates who were with the victim on the river bank and took the victim to a secluded place near the river and raped her. When the victim’s family asked why she was crying, the victim told the family the details of the rape. In this incident, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Chadgaon police station in the city. Afshar filed a rape case. At the end of the court proceedings, the accused. Afchar was sentenced to life imprisonment, 10,000 taka fine and 1 month rigorous imprisonment and issued an arrest warrant.
Senior Assistant Director of RAB-7. Nurul Abshar said that the absconding accused who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the rape case. Afcha is hiding in CNB Mor area of Chandgaon police station in the city to avoid arrest. On Tuesday (April 23) afternoon raid on such news from secret sources. Afshar was arrested. During interrogation, he said that he had been hiding in different places of the country including Chittagong for 22 years to avoid arrest. It has been handed over to Chandgaon police station in the city for further legal action.
