For the past few days, severe heat wave has continued throughout the country including the capital. It disrupted public life. All classes of people are affected by heat stroke in this summer. The level of heat is increasing day by day while the death of people due to heat stroke is also increasing.

Meanwhile, Ishtiaq Waresh Turya, a student of finance department of North South University of the capital, died. He died yesterday Tuesday (April 23) around 9 pm. His relatives believe that he died of heat stroke due to intense heat wave.

Asif Bin Ali, a teacher of journalism department of North South University of the capital and deputy director of public relations office, told the media that Ishtiaq Waresh Turya, a student of our university, lived in Bashundhara residential area. He was taken to the hospital when he fell ill on Tuesday around 9 pm. There the doctor declared him dead. His family and relatives believe that he died of heat stroke. We are deeply saddened by his death.

Meanwhile, Ishtiaq Waresh was a final year student of the 202nd batch of Finance Department of Turya University. His village home is in Kazipur of Sirajganj. His death cast a shadow of grief among the students and teachers of the university. But due to intense heat, his body was not brought to the campus. Turya’s father, Wahiduzzaman Minu, is an assistant professor at Afzal Hossain Memorial Degree College. Turya was the father’s only child.

His body was taken to his home district Sirajganj on Wednesday (April 24) morning. His funeral was held at Aliya Madrasa ground in Bad Johar, Sirajganj. North South University has been conducting online classes since April 21 due to severe heat wave. The online classes of the university will continue till April 27.
