In Bagerhat’s Mongla, people’s life has become unbearable with intense heat wave and unbearable sun and heat. Devout Muslims prayed for rain at 10 am on Wednesday (April 24) at the central Eid Gah ground of the city, seeking forgiveness from Allah for relief from the intense heat. At least two thousand worshipers of all classes and professions participated in this prayer under the initiative of the Mongla Imam Parishad and under the supervision of the municipal authorities.
President of Mongla Imam Parishad and Khatib of BLS Mosque and Imam Hafez Maulana Rezaul Karim led the Istiskar (prayer offered for rain) prayers. At the end of the prayer, forgiveness is sought from Allah to be saved from the heat wave that is sweeping over the country.
Monirul Islam Dulu, Jasim Uddin and SM Mohiuddin, who came to pray, said that Mongla, like the rest of the country, has become unbearably hot. It was supposed to rain for a long time, but it didn’t. Not only humans but also animals are suffering due to intense heat. For that, I prayed two rakats of Istiska according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and prayed to Allah for rain.
Imam Hafez Maulana Rezaul Karim, who led the prayers, said that it has been very hot for a long time and there has been no rain. Crops are being destroyed. There is also a problem in the movement of ordinary people, worshiping. That is why we prayed for rain today. Ask Allah, He will accept our prayers and give rain.
At this time, all the imams of the city’s mosques and common worshipers were present, including the city mayor, the heroic freedom fighter Sheikh Abdur Rahman.
