Heat waves can spread

Dhaka: Heat wave may spread over most of the country’s districts. However, there is a glimpse of rain in Sylhet division.

The Meteorological Office has given such a forecast on Wednesday (April 24).

Meteorologist Md. Tariful Nawaz Kabir said, the low pressure area is located over West Bengal and adjoining areas.

Rain/thundershower with gusty/stormy winds may occur at two/one places over Sylhet division till Thursday (April 25) morning along with scattered hail at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.

Meanwhile, intense heat waves are flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore and Patuakhali districts. A mild to moderate heat wave is moving over the rest of Dhaka, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions along with Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Bandarban districts and Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions and may spread.

Day temperatures will increase slightly and night temperatures will decrease slightly across the country. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.

From Thursday morning to Friday (April 26) morning, the weather will remain mainly dry across the country with partly cloudy skies. The prevailing heat wave will continue. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapor will increase discomfort.

From Friday morning to Saturday (April 27) morning, two/one places of Sylhet Division may experience rain/thunder with gusty winds and scattered hail at isolated places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.

The prevailing heat wave may continue. Day temperatures will remain almost unchanged across the country and night temperatures may increase slightly. Excess water vapor will increase discomfort. No significant change in weather conditions is expected in the extended five days.
