Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had initially given No Objection Letter (NOC) till April 30 to Mustafizur Rahman for IPL. Then BCB extended it by 1 day till May 1. Chennai vs Punjab match on May 1. If everything goes well, Mustafiz will return to Bangladesh the next day after playing that match on May 2.

BCB originally planned to play Mustafiz in the series against Zimbabwe. So the board did not give NOC to Mustafiz for the entire season of IPL. A few days ago, Jalal Yunus Chowdhury, head of BCB’s cricket operations department, explained that Mustafiz should not play in the IPL but play in the Zimbabwe series. He said, this pacer has nothing to learn from IPL.

Indian commentator and cricket analyst Harsha Bhogle has criticized such a decision of BCB. He said, ‘Mustafiz will leave the IPL on May 1. The director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board said that it is better for Mustafiz to play in Bangladesh to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Fizz doesn’t last long when Dwayne Bravo teaches Pathirana. Dhoni and Fleming’s association is different.’

“I hope what the Bangladesh Cricket Director said is false. Because he said Mustafiz has nothing to learn from IPL. Then the question arises where it is good for him. I understand that. In fact, the practice of Bangladesh should be fixed. The game here is very good for Mustafiz. Because here he is bowling great.’

Bangladesh will play a 5-match T20I series against the Rhodesians at home from May 3.
