Great Independence and National Day, Bengali New Year-1431 and 50 years of Bangladesh-Turkey diplomatic relations were celebrated in a festive atmosphere in Turkey. On this occasion, a program was organized at the Atakul Tower in Ankara on the initiative of the Bangladesh Embassy in the country’s capital, Ankara, on Monday (April 22).
On this day, the Atakule Tower, a landmark in the capital city of Ankara, was illuminated in the colors of the Bangladeshi flag, and some special stills were displayed on the huge billboards on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-Turkey diplomatic relations.
It is to be noted that since March 26 is in the month of Ramadan, the reception was organized on April 22. More than 400 guests including high-ranking officials of various public and private institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries of Turkey, ambassadors and diplomats of various countries in Ankara, representatives of international organizations, businessmen, journalists, teachers of various universities, civil society leaders and members of the Bangladeshi community living in Turkey were present in this event. Turkish Labor and Social Security Minister H.E. Prof. Dr. was present as the chief guest. Vedat Ishikhan.
The reception started with the national anthems of both the countries. At the beginning of the program, the video message given by the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister on the occasion of the reception was shown. Later, Bangladesh’s ambassador to Turkey gave a welcome speech at the event. Amanul Haque
He said that Bangladesh has achieved significant progress in all socio-economic sectors in the last few years under the relentless hard work, dynamic and wise leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which is recognized all over the world today.
He mentioned the socio-economic development picture of Bangladesh as well as bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Turkey based on mutual values, trust and historical ties. The Ambassador expressed optimism that the relations between the two countries will reach new heights in the coming days, which will increase successively in various fields including business, investment, education, health, agriculture, human resources, environment.
After that, the chief guest of the program, Minister of Labor and Social Security of Turkey, in his speech, extended greetings on the occasion of Bangladesh’s great independence and national day and congratulated the people and the government of Bangladesh for the extraordinary success achieved in the past year of independence. He mentioned the friendly relations between the two countries. He praised the people and the government of Bangladesh for the development journey of Bangladesh and building the country and expressed the hope that the Turkish government will always stand by Bangladesh to face future challenges after the transition of Bangladesh from a less developed country to a developing country.
After the chief guest’s speech, a cultural program was organized with the participation of children of officials and employees working in Bangladesh community and embassy on the occasion of Bangla New Year celebration. Later the cake was cut on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day and dinner was served to the arriving guests.
