Dismissal of teacher leader of nationalization movement Sheikh Kawchar approved – School

Daily Shiksha.com Reporter: The Dhaka Education Board has approved the final dismissal of teacher Sheikh Kawshar Ahmed, who led the nationalization movement. He is the head teacher of Sabuj Vidyapeeth School and College, Jatrabari, Dhaka.

Recently, in the board meeting, the decision taken by the managing committee regarding the final dismissal of Kawshar Ahmed was approved. A letter signed by Dhaka Education Board Secretary Professor Azad Hossain Chowdhury was sent to the president of the school’s managing committee on April 21.

According to the letter, the charge brought by the managing committee against the head teacher of the school (dismissed) Kawshar Ahmed – misappropriation of four and a half lakh taka out of the six lakh taka demanded by inducing Sahida Parveen to join the MPO; 1 lakh 98 of teachers’ provident fund during the corona epidemic in 2020

Embezzlement of thousands of rupees in cash; Failure to submit all information from 2010 AD to 2014 AD in the audit of ‘G Kibria & Co’ firm; One crore 42 lakh seven thousand 489 taka cash discrepancy in income sector; One crore 43 lakh 47 thousand 250 rupees inconsistency in expenditure sector; Appointing his relative Hossain Sheikh by tampering with fake certificates and accounts in 2016 AD; non-cooperation with new curriculum; Full involvement in business and teacher politics without giving time to school; Unlawful use of principal title; Keeping various important documents outside the resolution.

It is said in the letter that in the meeting of the Appeal and Arbitration Committee of the Board of Education on March 28, in the presence of both the plaintiff and the defendant, the recommendations of the investigation report and a thorough analysis of the complaints were proved by the managing committee and therefore it was recommended to dismiss him from the job.

This teacher leader, who is known as Awami League supporter, has been leading the private education nationalization movement. The movement peaked last year. At one point the president of the BCS General Education Cadre Association started openly opposing nationalization. Assisted by a leader of Awami League and technical teacher leader of MPO. Because of that, many allegations were brought forward. Then in November last year Kawshar Ahmed was temporarily suspended by the school authorities.

In the 230th board meeting held on April 4, the headmaster of the school (dismissed) said. The decision taken by the Managing Committee regarding the final dismissal of Kawshar Ahmed was approved.

Earlier, the managing committee temporarily suspended him on charges of corruption of 1 crore 42 lakh 7 thousand 489 taka in the income sector and 1 crore 43 lakh 47 thousand 250 taka in the expenditure sector. Besides, teachers were accused of embezzling 1 lakh 98 thousand rupees from provident fund.
