Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka for Thailand on a six-day state visit. At the invitation of Prime Minister Sretha Thavisin, the Prime Minister left Dhaka for Bangkok on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10 am today (April 24).

The plane is scheduled to land at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport at 1:30 pm local time.

During his visit, there is a possibility of signing an agreement, three memorandums of understanding (MOU) and a letter of intent (letter of interest) between the two countries to expand cooperation with Thailand.

Foreign Minister Dr. on the Prime Minister’s visit to Thailand last Monday. Hasan Mahmud said that the Prime Ministers of the two countries will hold a bilateral meeting on April 26 at the Government House of Thailand. On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend a state lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of Thailand as her courtesy. In the presence of the prime ministers of the two countries, there is a possibility of signing an agreement on visa exemption for official passport holders as well as three memorandums of understanding on mutual cooperation in energy, tourism and customs and a letter of intent to start negotiations on a free trade agreement. During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also meet King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida at the Royal Palace of Thailand.
