Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has launched an operation against illegal vehicles in Chittagong through mobile courts. On Tuesday (April 23) noon, these operations were conducted in Sitakunda on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, Rangunia on the Chittagong-Kaptai road, Kuaish and Hathazari on the Chittagong-Khagrachari road. Four mobile courts fined 77 thousand taka in 37 cases for various crimes in the campaign.
According to BRTA sources, Mishkatul Tamanna, Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court-12 of BRTA, Chittagong Division, led the raid conducted by Sitakunda on Dhaka-Chittagong highway. He was fined 13 thousand rupees in 6 cases for the crime of driving a car without a license, not having fitness and riding a motorcycle without a helmet.
Rangunia Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Marjan Hossain led the Rangunia campaign of Chittagong-Kaptai Regional Highway. Meanwhile, he fined three vehicles 15 thousand taka.
At the same time, Chittagong District Administration Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Farhanur Rahman led the operation in Quaish area. In the campaign, he fined 36 thousand 500 taka in 16 cases for various crimes.
On the other hand, Hathazari Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Mehraj Sharmin led the operation in Hathazari of Chittagong-Khagrachari-Rangamati regional highway. Meanwhile, he fined 12 thousand 500 taka on 12 vehicles.
