Dhaka: Temporarily gusty winds may blow in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions during the heat wave. Along with that there may be rain with thunder.

The Meteorological Office has given such a forecast on Tuesday (April 23).

Meteorologist Md. Bajlur Rashid said that the low pressure area is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas.

On Wednesday (April 24) at a few places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, rain/thundershower with gusty/gusty winds may occur temporarily and there is a risk of hailstorm at isolated places. Maximum speed of 60 km can be storm in Sylhet. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.

Intense heat wave is flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore and Patuakhali districts. A mild to moderate heat wave is moving over the rest of Dhaka, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions along with Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Bandarban districts and Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions and may spread.

Day temperatures may increase slightly and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapor will cause discomfort.

On Thursday (April 25) Sylhet division may experience rain/thundershower with gusty/gusty winds at a few places. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. The prevailing heat wave will continue. Day temperatures may rise slightly across the country and night temperatures will remain almost unchanged. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.

Friday (April 26) will be mainly dry with partly cloudy skies across the country. The prevailing heat wave will continue. Besides, day and night temperatures will remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapor will cause discomfort. No significant change in weather conditions is expected in the extended five days.

The highest temperature in the country was recorded at Ishwardi on Tuesday at 40.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka was 38.4 degrees Celsius.
