On April 4, the Chief Property Officer of Dhaka South City Corporation issued a lease notice for setting up a sacrificial animal market on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Later, the North City Corporation appealed and the Appellate Division allowed the lease from L block onwards for 2023. As a result, animal haat was established from L block last year, but due to the High Court writ, animal haat was not installed from A block to H block last year.

Aftabnagar (Eastern Housing), Dhanmondi, a planned residential area approved by Rajuk like Gulshan, thousands of people of different classes and professions including judges are living here by building small and big multi-storied houses, about seven thousand plots have been allotted in this huge residential area.
