In addition to strengthening economic relations with Bangladesh, the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan wants to take skilled manpower from here.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Avazhbek Atakhanov, who is visiting Dhaka, expressed such interest in a meeting with Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman at the Bangladesh Investment Building in Agargaon in the capital on Monday.

At the end of the meeting, the PR office of the Prime Minister’s Advisor informed the media about the discussion.

Salman F. Rahman said that there is an opportunity to increase cooperation between the two countries in various sectors including ready-made clothing industry, education. Both countries want to use these opportunities. Besides, the two countries can also work in the agriculture and technology sectors.

He said that there are many opportunities to increase the economic relations between the two countries. About 1000 Bangladeshi medical students are studying in the country. Kyrgyzstan expects more students from Bangladesh.

The Kyrgyz Republic has strongly aligned itself with the European Union (EU) during the Covid period. Since then, the country has been exporting garments made to the countries of this alliance of Europe.

Visiting Deputy Foreign Minister Avazbek Atakhanov has expressed his interest in exporting clothes to EU countries jointly with Bangladesh.

In the briefing after the meeting, he praised the ongoing socio-economic development of Bangladesh and said that the Kyrgyz Prime Minister wants to visit Bangladesh and expressed his interest in hiring workers from Bangladesh in production-oriented industries.
