Mohsin Khan was appointed as the new analyst of the Bangladesh national team. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Mohsin Sheikh, former analyst of Afghanistan national team, for 2 years.

BCB confirmed the matter through a statement on Monday (April 22). His assignment begins with Bangladesh team’s home series against Zimbabwe. As such, the contract with Mohsin is from 1 May 2024 to 30 April 2026.

Pakistani-born Mohsin Sheikh has been working as an analyst for Shant since the series against New Zealand in December 2023. Mohsin Sheikh has previously worked for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Also worked for Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket Australia. He has experience of working in BPL, IPL, PSL and Big Bash League.

It should be noted that in the last Asia Cup against Sri Lanka, Mohsin was widely criticized for not knowing the equation to go to the Super Four at the end of Afghanistan. Afghanistan can go to Super Four if they can chase the target of 292 runs in 37.1 overs against Sri Lanka. But beyond that equation there were more equations that Afghanistan did not know.

Although the target was 292 runs, if Afghanistan could have scored 293 runs in 37.2 overs, 294 runs in 37.3 overs, 295 runs in 37.5 overs, 296 runs in 38 overs or 297 runs in 38.1 overs then they would have gone to Super Four. Even in this era of modern cricket, the analysts of Afghanistan cricket at that time did not know about the remaining equations.
