Election Commission Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that 730 people have filed nomination papers for the post of chairman, 763 for the post of vice chairman and 562 for the post of female vice chairman. According to the schedule for the second phase, the last date for filing nomination papers was Sunday. Selection of nomination papers from 23 April, acceptance of appeals from 24 to 26 April, disposal of appeals from 27 to 29 April. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is 30th April. Allotment of symbols is on May 2. Voting in 160 upazilas will be held on May 21. Additional District Commissioners have been appointed as Returning Officers and Upazila Nirbahi Officers as Assistant Returning Officers in this round of elections. Where the number of voters is more than 5 lakh, there will be more than one Assistant Returning Officer. District Election Officers and Upazila Election Officers have been appointed as Assistant Returning Officers in this round of elections. The appellate authority is the District Commissioner.
