A young man was hacked to death at midnight in Mymensingh

A man named Rana Ahmed (34) was hacked to death by the opponents due to previous enmity in Nandale of Mymensingh. The murder took place in Banati village of Rajgati union of Nandail upazila at midnight on Sunday (April 22). Rana is the son of Abul Hashem of that village. The police arrested three people for their involvement in the incident.

The police and locals said that there was a dispute between Abul Hashem of Banati village of Rajgati union of the upazila and Bakul Gang’s neighbor for several years. At midnight on Sunday, Rana was sitting near the deep tubewell near the house and using his mobile phone. At this time, the opponents cut and wounded Elopathari from the back with Da Ballam. When Rana’s relatives came forward, the opponents fled. Later Rana was rescued and taken to Nandale Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nandale Police Station Abdul Majeed said that there was a dispute between Hashem and Bakul Gang since 2019. He is believed to have been killed over that dispute. The murder is still under investigation. Three people have been arrested for their involvement in the incident. An operation is underway to quickly arrest the rest of the criminals. At present the situation is normal.
