Bangladesh has received the second tranche of USD 4.7 billion loan approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal confirmed this information to the media on Wednesday night. The installment amount of this round is 68 million 10 million dollars.

He said, ‘The second installment of four and seven billion US dollars loan was approved today at the IMF board meeting. Bangladesh will get a loan of 682 million US dollars in this second installment.

Incidentally, in July 2022, Bangladesh asked for a loan from the IMF. After six months, the company decided to give a loan of 4.7 billion dollars on January 30. This money will be available in total seven installments over three and a half years till 2026.

Bangladesh received the first installment of $476.3 million on February 2, two days after the IMF board approved the loan proposal.
