A new committee of the Dhaka Journalist Forum, a traditional organization of Dhaka locals, has been formed. Rashed Ali, the assignment editor of Ekushe Television, was elected as the president and Zahidur Rahman, the senior reporter of RTV, was elected as the general secretary.
The committee was formed at the end of the Eid reunion and annual general meeting-2024 organized at Buriganga Manch in Soarighat of the capital on Saturday night.
Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, former Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and Secretary General of Dhaka Journalist Forum, was the chief guest, while writer Saiduzzaman Roshan was present as a special guest.
They urged the Dhaka Journalist Forum to work to highlight Dhaka’s heritage.
Ihita Jalil of Basser became the vice-president of this committee for two years. Ayanal Hossain, Labanya Bhuiyan of Asian TV. Besides, Rashim Molla of Manabzamin as joint editor, Masud Rana of BTV as finance editor, Liton Mahmud of DBC as organizational editor, Md. of Ajker newspaper as office editor. Humayun Kabir was elected.
Others in the committee are – Mahmudur Rashid of Saaf Kathar as publicity and publication editor, Kushal Yasir of NTV as sports editor, Anjan Rahman of Channel Eye as cultural editor, Afsana Jahan Neela of DBC as information technology and training editor, Md. of Ajker newspaper as welfare editor. Abul Kashem, Maksuda Lisa of Voice of Asia as Women Editor.
The executive members of the committee are – Momin Hossain of RTV, Kamruzzaman Hiru of Sangram, Dipan Dewan of Banglavision, SMA Kalam of Bangla News, Redwan Shuaib of Channel Twenty-four, Rashed Nizam of Jamuna TV, Abu Huraira Tamim of Ekushe Television, Anwar Hossain Pintu of Manabzamin, Shahabuddin Shihab of RTV, Bangla News. Delwar Hossain Badal, now TV’s Shahriar Zaman Dwip, daily news daily Mithun Sarkar has been selected.
Apart from this, senior journalist Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, former secretary general of the Federal Journalist Union of Bangladesh, has been made the chief advisor of the committee. 71 TV Head of News Shakil Ahmed, Dhaka Journalist Forum’s outgoing President Shamim Siddiqui, Dhaka Journalist Union General Secretary Aktar Hossain, Manavzamin Managing Editor KM Babar Ashraful Haque, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union former office editor Varun Bhowmik Nayan, Bangladesh Crime Reporters have been advised. Association (CRAB) president Kamruzzaman Khan and noted poet Saiduzzaman Roshan.
