After the ODI World Cup, another World Cup is in front of Bangladesh. Because of that, the cricket arena of Bangladesh is in a new discussion. Can Bangladesh overcome the disappointment of India’s World Cup with the performance of this T20 World Cup starting from June 1?

Discussions are going on about such questions. Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto answered the journalist’s questions about the plans of the Bangladesh team. Last Sunday (April 21), the Tiger captain asked for prayers from the people of the country for the team.

BCB organized a special running test in the athletics truck of Bangabandhu National Stadium last Saturday to check the fitness of the cricketers ahead of the World Cup. There were cricketers from three formats – Test, ODI and T20.

After that, Shanto was awarded Sports Person of the Year by Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), an organization of sports journalists based at Bangabandhu Stadium.

Shanta spoke at the award ceremony. The left-handed batsman spoke about the good and bad times of his career there. How the Tiger captain coped with difficult situations also came up in front of the media. At one point, Shant asks for prayers from the countrymen for himself and the team.

Shanto said, ‘As a player, every person has bad times in their life. But I never panicked that I wasn’t doing well. The plan I have, how honest I am with my workplace, how honest I am doing the work and how much faith I have in myself – I always take care of these things.’

Shanta also said, ‘In those bad times of the past, I thought only one thing that I am doing my job properly. I believe in myself that I belong in this place. From that belief I have come as far as I can today. But it still seems to me that there is a long way to go. So I will ask for prayers from everyone, let everyone pray. Pray especially for the Bangladesh team. May we do well.’
