--

Although the temperature has dropped a bit, severe heat waves are still blowing across the country. On Sunday (April 21), Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature in the country at 42.2 degrees Celsius.

The second highest temperature was in Jessore; 40.2 degrees Celsius. And the highest temperature recorded in Dhaka is 38.2 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, the season’s highest temperature was recorded in Jessore on Saturday (April 20), which was 42.6 degrees Celsius. On that day, the maximum temperature in Dhaka was 40.4 degrees Celsius and Chuadanga was 42.3 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, meteorologist Omar Farooq said that the temperature is still high today. These temperatures are likely to remain so throughout the week. The sensation of heat is greater than the temperature because of the higher amount of vapor in the air.

According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, there may be temporary gusts of wind or rain with thunder in two places in Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chittagong divisions. Along with that, there may be scattered rain of hail at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.

Regarding the heat wave, it is said that very intense heat wave is flowing in Pabna, Jessore and Chuadanga districts. Intense heat wave is flowing over the rest of Khulna division including Rajshahi district and Dhaka division.

Mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing over the rest of Barisal Division and Rajshahi Division including Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Chandpur and Rangamati districts and may persist.

It further said that the day temperature may increase by (1-2) degree Celsius in Rangpur division and it may remain almost unchanged elsewhere. Night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.
