Actor Oliul Haque Rumi passed away

Dhaka, April 22, 2024 (BASS): Actor Oliul Haque Rumi has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital on Monday morning.
Oliul Haque Rumi was suffering from colon cancer for a long time. Go to Chennai, India for treatment. After returning home from there, the actor was undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
Rumi was born in Barguna. His father was a brave freedom fighter Azizul Haque. Mother Hamida Haque. Rumi was the youngest among three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Rumi mostly acts in the regional language of Barisal. It is in this language that the audience laughs and cries. Aliul Haque Rumi was also associated with journalism. He was the editorial assistant of Dainik Ittefaq.
Rumi started acting in 1988 with the drama ‘Ekhon Kritdas’. Apart from television, he also acted in films. In 2009, he made his debut on the big screen by acting in the film ‘Daria Parder Daulati’.
Rumi’s notable dramas are ‘Dhaka to Barisal’, ‘American Saheb’, ‘Journey by Bus’, ‘Bakier Naam Ghapi’, ‘Jamaj Series’, ‘Comedy 420’, ‘Chaita Pagal’, ‘Jeevaner Oligli’, ‘ Cloudy city’ etc.
On the death of Oliul Haque Rumi, we are the president of the Central Committee of Freedom Fighters. Sajjad Hossain and General Secretary Mohammad Rasheeduzzaman and President Jihadur Rahman Jihad Jihad Extraordinary Secretary Mohiuddin Kader expressed deep condolences.
