This Bikikini process was completed on October 28, 2022. Musk started buying Twitter shares from January 2022. By April, he owned 9.1 percent of the company’s shares. Twitter invited Musk to join their board of directors. At first he agreed and later rejected the offer. Elon Musk unexpectedly offered to buy Twitter on April 14. Twitter’s board of directors called the proposal a ‘poison pill’ strategy. But finally on April 25 Elon Musk’s proposal to buy Twitter for 4 thousand 4 billion US dollars was accepted by the board of directors.

Soon after the purchase, Musk promised to add new features to Twitter, open source its algorithm, declare war on spambot accounts and ensure freedom of speech. In July, Elon Musk announced the cancellation of the deal to buy Twitter. Twitter quickly sued in Delaware court, alleging breach of contract. The hearing of the case was fixed on October 17. Elon Musk announced the opposite again a week before the hearing. He wants to go ahead with acquiring Twitter. Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter was completed on October 28, 2022. Elon Musk is the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. Twitter merged into the newly formed parent company X Corporation. Twitter is renamed to ‘X’. Musk stepped down and appointed Linda Iaccarino as X’s CEO in July 2023. Elon Musk now serves as X’s chief technology officer (CTO) and executive chairman.

After a long legal battle with Jack Kilby, the US Patent Office granted Robert Norton Noyes the patent for the integrated circuit or IC. Kilby invented the germanium version of the circuit. On the other hand, Noyce invented silicon-based integrated circuits. Noice’s IC gets more acceptance. ICs replaced transistors used in computers. As a result, the size of the computer becomes smaller at a significant rate.

Microsoft and Nokia’s Devices and Services Business Division deal was completed for $7.17 billion. Microsoft Corporation bought Nokia’s mobile phone business which was basically dying. After the purchase it was named ‘Microsoft Mobile’. As a result of this agreement, the design, manufacturing, sales, marketing and service division of Nokia devices became part of Microsoft. 32,000 employees of Nokia, including 4,700 employees in Finland, also moved under Microsoft.
