BNA Desk: India won by 101 runs against Afghanistan in the exit match from Asia Cup. Afghanistan scored 111 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs to play the target of 213 runs given by India.

From the beginning of the innings, the batting line of Afghanistan was twisted by the Indian bowlers. They lost wickets at regular intervals from the start and their dreams of victory turned gray. Apart from Ibrahim Zadran’s innings of 64 runs off 59 balls, no other batsman could benefit much. Apart from Rashid Khan’s 15 and Mujibur Rahman’s 18 runs, no other batsman could reach double figures.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 5 wickets alone with a maiden for 4 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Arshdeep Singh, Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin took 1 wicket each.

Play starts at 8pm on Thursday (September 8) at the Dubai International Cricket Ground. Afghanistan won the toss and invited India to bat.

KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are India’s openers. From the start, Marmukhi picked up a half century from two batters. India lost their first wicket by 119 runs. KL Rahul returned with 62 runs off 41 balls.

Suraiya Kumar then joined Virat Kohli. However, he could not benefit much. He had to return to the dressing room with 6 off 2 balls after the team scored 125 runs. Then Rishabh Pant joined Kohli. He scored 20 runs off 16 balls and Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 122 runs off 61 balls.

Farid Ahmed took two wickets for Afghanistan. Apart from this, no other bowler could make such an advantage.
