Russia has indefinitely suspended gas supplies to European countries through the Nord Stream pipeline.

Russia’s main gas company Gazprom has completely shut down gas supplies through pipelines since Wednesday and will continue to do so for three days. But on Friday, Gazprom reiterated that the gas supply shutdown was extended due to technical problems with the pipeline. However, no details were given as to how long the gas supply will be shut down and what kind of problem there is in the pipeline.

In a statement on Friday, Gasprom said gas supplies through Nord Steam have been completely stopped due to logistical problems in the pipeline and will remain closed until the problem is resolved. Gas supply cannot be started until the repair work of the pipe line is completed.

Russia extended the supply cut on the same day the G7 announced it was working to fix the price of Russian oil.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said recently that the pipeline does not have the necessary parts to carry out the repair work. He also said that only one turbine is operating at the moment.
