Military exercises started today in Russia with the participation of some countries including China and India. The United States is deeply concerned about this.
The White House said in a statement on Wednesday that the Biden administration is seriously monitoring the issue of this joint exercise amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
Apart from India and China, countries like Belarus, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Syria, Laos and Nicaragua will participate in it.
Russia has organized this exercise titled ‘Vostok 2022’. The military forces are making last minute preparations to participate in it. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than half a million soldiers will take part in this joint exercise. Apart from this, more than 150 warplanes and 60 warships are expected to participate in the exercise.
China’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed its participation in the exercise organized by Russia.
Beijing says it is sending more than 10,000 troops to Russia to participate in joint exercises. Amid border tensions with China in eastern Ladakh, Delhi has confirmed that the Indian military is also joining it. However, Beijing says that China’s participation in this joint exercise has nothing to do with the current international and regional situation.
Meanwhile, the United States has expressed deep concern about the upcoming joint military exercise.
In a statement, the White House said, the importance of holding the exercise amid the Russia-Ukraine war and the participation of India and China has increased. Washington also said that the Biden administration is seriously monitoring the matter.
