Modi was talking about the greatness of the soil of Bengal while standing in the public meeting in Malda. He said, starting from patriotism, social movement, scientific progress, Bengal has once led the entire country in all fields. The people present at the meeting were excited to hear him speak. ‘Modi Modi’ slogans were raised from all four directions. The Prime Minister stopped in the middle of speaking due to the slogans. He drank some water. He was overwhelmed by the crowd and said, “I will keep your enthusiasm and love in mind. You love me so much, it seems that I was born in Bengal in my last life. Or, in the next birth I am going to be born in Bengal. No one is destined to have so much love.”

The crowd of Malda became emotional after hearing this comment of Modi. The screams escalated. Addressing those who were listening to the speech in the scorching sun, the Prime Minister said, “This field is small, our event is small. You are standing in the hot sun, you are suffering. I apologize for that. But I will not let you be unemployed. I will return the love. Calm down for now and listen to me.”

Modi encouraged the countrymen to vote from the meeting in Malda. He said, “When you come to Bengal, you can see a different enthusiasm for the celebration of democracy. I was also watching from the helicopter. All the people here are blessing me. You all vote. Voting means strengthening the country’s democracy. So everyone should definitely vote.”

Attacking the Trinamool government, Modi said, “The Trinamool government here only does corruption. Education, ration, Sarada, Narada, Rozhvalli — corruption everywhere. Bengal is the land of Ramakrishnadev, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore. Left and Trinamool governments have hit the majesty of this soil. I cannot see the soil of Bengal in this way. BJP is constantly striving for the development of Bengal.

It is to be noted that Modi also commented on the verdict of the High Court regarding SSC corruption in Bengal recently from the meeting in Malda. Blaming Mamata’s government for this situation, he said, “Trinamool corruption has robbed 26,000 families of happiness.” He called for a change in the situation by voting for the BJP. In the third phase, polling in four constituencies of Bengal is on May 7. Maldah North, Maldah South, Murshidabad and Jangipur will vote on that day. BJP lost the last Lok Sabha in Malda South. Srirupa was defeated by 8,222 votes. BJP has again nominated him from that centre.
