Shahjahan Sheikh of Sandeshkhali’s body language changed after the arrest. That aggressiveness is now gone. This time ‘Sandeshkhali’s Tiger’ couldn’t hold back his tears after hearing his daughter’s ‘Daddy’ call and his wife’s cry while sitting in the family van. He turned his face and wiped his tears with his finger. After that, he put a handkerchief on his face. Everyone saw ‘Another Shah Jahan’ outside the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court on Tuesday.

Shahjahan’s brother Sheikh Alamgir was arrested by the CBI. He was arrested by the EDO after interrogation on Sunday night. At the same time two of Shahjahan’s disciples Shivprasad (Shibu) Hazra and Didarbux Mollah were arrested. A total of 12 people, including Shahjahan, Alamgir, Shibu, Mafuzar Molla, Ziauddin, Didar, were produced in the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court on Tuesday. But, the hearing did not proceed due to the death of a court clerk. Shah Jahan will be brought to the court again on May 7. When the suspended Trinamool leader was being taken back to the prison van, he turned around after hearing ‘Abbu’ from a few meters away. Shahjahan looked at the girl and shook his head saying ‘Yes’ or ‘I’m fine’ and turned away. Shah Jahan’s wife Taslima Bibi stood by the window of the car. He has already appeared several times before being summoned by investigators. Seeing his wife, he turned to the window. “Take care of yourself,” said the man, dressed in a blue shirt and trousers, softly to his wife.

Shahjahan’s wife and daughter and other family members were also standing near the window of the prison van. Everyone is telling Shahjahan to take care of his body. One said, “Take the medicine on time.” The wife touched her finger through the window railing of the van. Seeing his wife’s tears, Shahjahan could not contain himself. He turned his face saying ‘Pray to Allah’. Shahjahan secretly wiped his eyes.

It is to be noted that the CBI has claimed that the situation of filing more than 80 cases has arisen after looking into all the complaints which were received by the state police camp against Shahjahan and his close associates. Apart from this, Calcutta High Court directed CBI to open e-mail ID and app to receive more complaints directly from residents of Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas. They have also started to be taken. Investigators also claim that the number of cases is likely to be more than hundred. According to investigating officials, Sandeshkhali’s ‘Betaj Badsha’ Shahjahan returned after the attack on ED officers and Central Army jawans on January 5. And then the residents of Sandeshkhali started filing complaints of forcible land acquisition, beating, murder, attempted murder and rape against Shahjahan and his close associates. The complaint was accepted by Basirhat Police District by opening camps in various villages. Apart from this, 11 cases were already filed against Shah Jahan and his close associates. After the attack on the ED officials, two more cases were registered by the state police against Shahjahan and his gang. The High Court also handed over the investigation of those two cases to the CBI. Seven people, including Shahjahan and his brother Alamgir, are now in jail in those two cases.
