India’s ‘new Putin’ in the form of Narendra Modi: Sharad Pawar

--

India’s Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar commented that ‘a new Putin is being created in India in the form of Narendra Modi’.

Hindustan Times reported that he made these comments about the country’s current Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally in support of Congress candidate Balwant Wankhede in Amaravati, Maharashtra, India, yesterday (April 23).

Sharad Pawar claimed that when Modi entered Parliament, an atmosphere of fear was created. I worry that there is a Putin in the making in India.

Comparing Modi with past Prime Ministers, he said, India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru emphasized on building India in his speech. But Modi is busy criticizing Nehru, Congress and others in his speeches.

Claiming that Modi keeps a tight lip about what his government has done for the people in the last 10 years, Pawar said Modi is not doing a good job by constantly attacking the Congress.

Pawar told the Marathi news media G24 Taser that the Congress is not in power now. Still, Modi’s continuous attack on Congress is not a good decision at all.

Modi went on to criticize the Congress. But Pawar claimed that he is not making any promises about his government’s plans.
