According to NASA, this year’s pink moon will be fully visible at 7:49 PM local time on Tuesday (April 23). However, this moon will be seen in the country for three days from Monday morning to Thursday morning. And Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia will have the opportunity to see this pink moon in full tomorrow Wednesday.
This particular full moon occurs exactly one month after the lunar eclipse in March. It is a cosmic event when the moon comes very close to the earth. Due to which the size of the moon looks big and bright at this time.
According to the American space research agency NASA, the maximum light will spread on Tuesday at 7:49 pm local time in the United States. However, this moon will be seen in the country for three days from Monday morning to Thursday morning. And Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia will have the opportunity to see this pink moon in full tomorrow Wednesday.
According to astronomers, visible changes in the color of the moon are sometimes seen due to the energy of very fine dust particles and different types of gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. Apart from this, other smog pollution also hinders the light from reaching the earth. Light arriving at Earth is scattered in many ways according to their respective wavelengths, with blue being the fastest scattered. Red also goes a long way.
Because of this, the Moon appears brown, blue, light blue, silvery, golden, light yellow in color when viewed from Earth. And the illusion makes it appear slightly larger than normal. In astronomical terms it is also called relay scattering or scattering of light.
The full moon seen in April is called pink moon. Different cultures around the world have different names for the full moons throughout the year. These names come from different seasons, historical crops, and even the peculiar behavior of an animal. As such, the pink moon is named after a wild flower that blooms in early spring in the Americas. Regionally this pink colored flower is also called ‘Moss Pink’. April’s full moon has other names—’Fish Moon’, ‘Grass Moon’ and ‘Egg Moon’.
