New Delhi: Heat wave is going on. People are becoming gerbera in unbearable summer. Going out has become a fear. This situation is not only in West Bengal, many states of the country are getting ‘burnt’ in the intense heat. On Sunday, similar pictures were caught in different states of the country. The maximum temperature remained 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal at many places.

According to India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature hovered between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius. These temperatures were observed in Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Besides, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Uttar Pradesh recorded maximum temperature of 40 to 42 degrees Celsius.

Ganga West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and various parts of Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal on this day. Besides, some parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and some parts of Telangana remained 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal.

The current heatwave is the second heatwave spell this month. For the first time, the people of Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat have to bear the brunt of the heat wave.

Record heat in April-

The entire Bengal is burning in the heat. It is raining in Kolkata. People who go out on the street for urgent work are getting lazy in the heat! April is the city’s longest lasting heat over the past half century. Extreme heat wave warning has been issued in 6 districts of South Bengal.

The maximum temperature in Kolkata on Sunday was 40.2 degrees Celsius. 5 degrees higher than normal. Meteorologists say that Kolkata in April has not seen such warm, uncomfortable weather for such a long time in 50 years.

In April 1980, the mercury in Kolkata rose to 41.7 degrees. In 2014 and 2016, the temperature exceeded 41 for several days in April. One day in April 2013, the city’s maximum temperature touched 41 degrees. Not just record-breaking heat. Marushahar, Jaisalmer and Dubai have been beaten by Calcutta and Panagarh in daytime temperature.
