Kuntal Ghosh has no ‘personal acquaintance’ with Abhishek Banerjee. This is what the expelled youth leader of Trinamool claimed in the CBI interrogation. This is known through sources on Friday. Kuntal alleged that the Central Investigation Agency was ‘pressurizing’ him to reveal Abhishek’s name. There has been an uproar around this complaint of the former Trinamool leader. Kuntal wrote a letter to the lower court against the ED-CBI in this regard. He also sent a letter to the Hastings police station asking for police intervention. Abhishek was interrogated by the CBI last Saturday regarding that letter. After 3 days, CBI went to Presidency Jail and interrogated Kuntal. According to sources, Kuntal said that he did not have a personal conversation with Abhishek during that interrogation. After the interrogation last Saturday, Abhishek also claimed that he did not know Kuntal.

After that, Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay said in his observation that CBI or ED can interrogate Abhishek if necessary. Justice Amrita Sinha also agreed with that observation. The All India General Secretary of Trinamool approached the Supreme Court in the case related to this letter. The apex court did not want to interfere in this case on Friday.
