Kolkata: ED raided several places in the city on seven mornings. On Saturday morning, the officials of the Enforcement Directorate were seen conducting searches at two consecutive places in Kolkata with the jawans of the central forces. There are total 4 officers in the team, two of them are said to be women. Searches are underway at two residences on Park Street and McLeod Street. The reason for the search is still unclear.

Two residences on McLeod Street adjacent to Park Street were searched, sources said. ED officials first reached 36/1 McLeod Street that day. According to ED sources, they went there in search of a person named Wahid Rahman. After talking about a few things there, the officers went to the residence at 34/A McLeod Street. It is learned that the officials spoke to the residents of the residence after going to the residence to inquire about the person. Then exit.

According to sources, the search was conducted at the residence of father and son, lawyers by profession. But it is still not clear in which case, in which case the ED officials have gone there to investigate. It is believed that they have gone to investigate a money laundering case.

Recently, CBI and ED are investigating several cases in the state. The recruitment corruption case is one of the probes being conducted by the central agency ED. ED went to former minister Partha Chatterjee’s house in recruitment case. Later Arpita Mukherjee’s residence was searched and huge amount of cash was recovered.
