Savar (Dhaka): Two teenagers have been accused of stabbing and seriously injuring Argentina in their FIFA World Cup soccer match against Saudi Arabia.
The incident took place on Tuesday (November 22) around 6:30 pm at Bakhtarpur intersection of Savar Municipality.
The injured are Al Amin (18) and Mehdi (16).
Local residents said that everyone was watching the game of Saudi Arabia and Argentina in Bakhtarpur area. At one stage of the altercation towards the end of the game, 20-22 boys indiscriminately hacked Mehdi and Al Amin with sharp weapons. All those who cut are friends of the wounded. Later they were rescued and sent to Savar Upazila Health Complex in injured condition.
Farbin Jasim, a doctor in the emergency department of the health complex, said that the bodies of the two teenagers had marks of sharp weapon injuries in different places. Meanwhile, Al Amin’s body suffered deep wounds in about 8-9 places. After initial treatment, both were sent to Shahid Suhrawardy Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment.
