The accused of killing Sultan of Purandpur village of Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah are still out of touch. Even in the last one and a half months, the police could not arrest anyone, the prosecution is disappointed with the slow pace of the case.
It is known that on July 6, Mizan, a member of Ward No. 7 of Fatepur Union and his cadres tied Sultan to a tree and severely tortured him based on a trivial incident. He died due to long-term treatment.
In this regard, Farid Uddin, the brother of the deceased, filed a murder case with the number-11(8)22 as the plaintiff, accusing 10/12 people including Mizan members at Maheshpur police station. Even after the past one and a half months, the police could not arrest any of the accused in this case.
But after investigation, it is known that the main accused in the case, Mizan Member, is active on Facebook. He is seen posting pictures on Facebook from attending various meetings.
Farid Uddin, the plaintiff in the case, told reporters that he was suffering from insecurity and the defendants were putting pressure on him to drop the case through various people. He sought the intervention of the higher echelons of the government.
Meanwhile, when the investigating officer of the case was contacted, SI Saidur Rahman, he said that the accused had fled and they were not found after raiding the area. Some progress has been made in the case. The doctor’s statement has been taken. The post mortem report has not yet been received, if received, further action will be taken.
