The women footballers of Bangladesh returned home on Wednesday afternoon with the title of SAFF women’s championship.
The plane carrying them reached Dhaka at 1.40 pm. Sabinara reached Bauffe Bhavan around 6:30 pm with a procession from the airport in an open-top bus.
Earlier captain Sabina Khatun spoke to reporters after landing at the airport.
He said in an emotional voice that he has now understood that the people of Bangladesh love football and football so much.
Sabina said, ‘People of Bangladesh love football and our team so much, I understood that today. We are grateful to be received in this way. We have played consistently well in the last four-five years. I worked hard. Winning the title is the result of that.’
The best of the tournament, Sabina said, they don’t want to stop by winning. Next year, they are eyeing success at the Asian level, including the SAFF Games.
Sabina said in this regard, we have achieved success in South Asia. Now our goal is how to go further.
Sabina said that Safar’s success did not come easily. This title is the result of hard work of the last decade. He thanked everyone related to the captain for supporting the team for a long time.
Thanking the president of BAFUF, Sabina said, the biggest thanks should be given to BAFUF president Kazi Salauddin sir, head of women’s wing Kiran Apa and other related officials and the minister. With their help, football has been going well since 2012. If you see the success and hard work of the girls in the last four-five years, this title is the result. We are grateful to everyone.
