The bodies of 3 people, including uncle and nephew, who went missing in boat sinking while visiting Sahebchar in Hossainpur of Kishoreganj, have been recovered.
Their bodies were found near the Brahmaputra Dane bridge of the upazila at around 6 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, September 21. Later, the police and fire service rescued their bodies.
The three rescued are Abdus Samad’s son of Charsakhchura village of Pagla police station of Mymensingh district. Sifat (16) and the son of Monir Hossain of the same village. Yachin (7) and Shamim Mia (30) son of Kitab Ali of Tarapasha village of Sidla Union of Hossainpur upazila.
Uncle-nephew about Sifat and Yasin. Shamim is the father of one child. He was supposed to go to Oman on September 25.
Hossainpur police station inspector Asaduzzaman Titu confirmed the matter and said that on Wednesday morning, when the bodies of two people were found floating near the bridge, the locals informed the police. Police and fire service went to recover the body after receiving information.
On Monday, September 19, in the afternoon of Sidla Union of Hossainpur Upazila, the boat race was held in the name of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in the old Brahmaputra River of Saheberchar, Sidla Union of Hossainpur Upazila, under the initiative of Sidla Union Awami League. Prime Minister’s special assistant agriculturist Moshiur Rahman Humayun was present as the chief guest.
