Gazipur, September 21 – Former Farmers Bank officer Gazi Salah Uddin (60), a prisoner of Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur, passed away. He died at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur at 3 pm on Tuesday (September 20).
On Wednesday morning, acting Senior Jail Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail-2, Amirul Islam, said that prisoner Salah Uddin suddenly fell ill at around 2:30 on Tuesday night. Later, after primary treatment at the prison hospital, he was taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 3 am. Salah Uddin is a resident of Niral Niloy Masjid Mohalla area of Adalatpara in Patuakhali district. He is a resident of 212 Shershah Suri Road, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. He was lodged in that jail as a three-year convict in an ACC case.
The jail superintendent also said that his body will be handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem on Wednesday. Gazi Salahuddin served as Senior Executive Vice President, formerly Head of Credit, at The Farmers Bank (now Padma Bank).
